SMPM is a high density blindmate connector solution that has been using in VITA 67.1, 67.2, and now in 67.3. In this spec revision the spring loaded feature has moved from the daughter card side to the backplane side allowing the daughter card side to now have cables, adapters, and edge launch solutions. This interface is used regularly and allows for up to 14 ports in a full width module.
