The SMPM daughter cards have been in the VITA 67.3 standard since 2017. They are reliable and can be using with SF034, SF047, and SF086 cables along with adapters that may lead to an edge launch connection. This contact consists of one cable connector that is fixed in its module to prevent radial and axial float. These contacts are designed for 1000 mating cycles and feature a catcher’s mitt interface to allow for easier alignment to reduce wear. The 10 and 14 port Backplane modules are specified by SOSA and are the most commonly used.
