The SMPM backplanes have been in the VITA 67.3 standard since 2017. They are reliable and can be using with SF034, SF047, and SF086 cables. This contact consists of one main cable connector and a connector saver adapter that serves as the mate to the daughter card. These contacts are designed for 1000 mating cycles and are able to float about 2mm axially to always ensure a mated connection. The 10 and 14 port Backplane modules are specified by SOSA and are the most commonly used.
